Our New Sales Manager Jani Lehto Started at Wennstrom’s e-Mobility Business Area in December 2024
Jani Lehto began working in December 2024 in Wennstrom’s e-Mobility business area, which focuses on electric transportation. His work and educational background are strongly oriented toward electric mobility, and he sees significant potential in electricity as a power source for transportation.
Comprehensive Solutions and Lifecycle Thinking
Wennstrom’s sales team was strengthened in December 2024 when Jani Lehto joined as the new Sales Manager for electric mobility and as a member of the management team. Living in Espoo, Jani serves Wennstrom’s customers nationwide, working on various electric transportation projects.
“My main task is to develop and grow the eMobility business comprehensively. I sell electric charging solutions to both existing and new customers,” Jani explains.
For the past five years, Jani worked in electrical wholesale as a product group manager, focusing on power distribution network products and EV charging devices. He also served as an electrical works supervisor. Earlier in his career, he worked as a project manager for power distribution and EV charging network projects and led an installation team for several years. Jani holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (YAMK) and has S1-level electrical qualification.
Jani describes his new role as a good mix of the familiar and the new:
“I previously worked in procurement, so it’s nice to now see the sales side as well. Selling charging devices is very much need-based—few buy them for stock. That’s why comprehensive solutions and lifecycle thinking are emphasized in sales. My job is to identify the customer’s needs and present and recommend solutions that best suit them,” he says.
All the Potential Is Already in Place
Jani has started his new role with great interest and anticipation. There’s been a lot of information to absorb, but that’s to be expected in a new job.
“The role immediately sounded interesting to me, both from a general interest perspective and in terms of business and personal development. The team is great, and Wennstrom has a relaxed atmosphere but also a strong sense of purpose. All the potential for good results is there—as long as we stay active and focus on the right things,” Jani states.
The promising potential of electricity as a transportation power source is further supported by the fact that the infrastructure already exists.
“Electricity has proven itself as a viable solution for transportation, and the market for it isn’t likely to run out. My guess is that in the future, the main power sources for mobility will be electricity and one other alternative—whether that’s hydrogen, biogas, or something else,” Jani predicts.
In his role, Jani sees it as essential to identify customer needs, offer various solution options, and help choose the most suitable one. Customers are met by a helpful and approachable expert.
Much of Jani’s free time is spent with his daughter, born in 2023. Exercise is also an important part of his daily life, and the family often visits relatives in Oulu—traveling comfortably year-round in their fully electric ID.3
